A remark to all iOS users: We're working on group access, you'll hear from us.
- Access to all groups
- Access to files contacts have shared with you
- Direct file upload to private and public groups
- Meta data extraction for images and mp3
- Thumbnails for uploaded images
A remark to all iOS users: We're working on group access, you'll hear from us.
Please remember all the annoying bugs in 10.7 Lion...
ReplyDeleteThere still no ability
ReplyDelete- to download a whole folder by one click
- to upload many pictures from the gallery
- to enter a PIN code at start (like Dropbox does)
- to auto logoff after some timeout (say 30 minutes)
Will be fine to have a Music player, like Amazon Cloud Drive does...
Congratulations, nice to have Contacts and Groups now.
ReplyDeleteBut there seems to be a problem if you switch the user. Just before I signed in as another user. Then back to my user, I didn't get the Contacts and Groups Button anymore (only Home and Help Button). I could fix this only by killing the Wuala App within the task manager (sign out, sign in only did not help).
And as mentioned already, an auto logoff feature is a must for a secure app like this.
Well, auto logoff would, if implemented, have to be an option that you could, er, opt out of. Entering my password all the time on the on-screen keyboard is a major pain, at least with the size screen my phone has. I handle the security by keeping the phone in an inside pocket of a vest that I carry at all times. It's never left behind anywhere.
ReplyDeleteAnd if I did tend to leave it behind I would instead set my phone to have a lock code for accessing it after the screensaver kicks in. That way all the other important stuff would be protected, and not only Wuala. I recommend you do this if you feel worried about Wuala on your phone (because you should really feel worried about the rest too.. :-))

Tor,
ReplyDeleteprobably you don't know that it's pretty easy to hack any `lock screen` passwords on Android? ;)
There's no any `global security` options. Only `in app` security staff could protect your data in the particular app.
Vagif,
ReplyDeleteWhat you should focus on then is to get a 3party tool to protect (all of) your phone.
As for individual applications having a timeout, it's all fine with me as long as it's a non-mandatory option.

@Armin: Thanks for your bugreport. I was able to reproduce once. We will fix this in the next release.
ReplyDelete@Vagif, Tor: An optional screen lock feature (always or after x minutes) is planned for the next feature release.
Thanks for the update. I was waiting for contacts and groups. One thing to ad though...why does it only work with OI File Manager? I'd love to use my own (Astro) file manager to upload files to wuala.
ReplyDelete@Fabian: if just fixed that in the upcoming feature release v2.1. There you can select the file manager of your choice.
ReplyDelete.. and no, release date of v2.1 is not yet defined ;)
BTW, in the release version I ran into the old problem of Wuala hanging (or crashing, can't tell without more OS tools) after a download. Selected download on a 3MB image, after reaching 100% nothing happened, pressing Menu after a while resulted in a 'non-responding application' message from the OS.
ReplyDeleteI mentioned this in a forum posting as well, so this is just a heads-up.
-Tor
it works really great
ReplyDeletethanks
Again and again: But when is the IOS-Group-Access ready. Please!!!
ReplyDeleteplease make a Blackberry version, there a lot of users who would like to have one.... thanx.
